Sky News visit Cornish Premier Pasties to chat about Brexit

Lewis Goodall, a Political Correspondent for Sky News, came with his team to visit our factory at Cornish Premier Pasties yesterday. He brought along his 'Lewis Lorry', which includes a giant screen showing a Brexit Countdown Clock. Lewis and his Lorry are on the road, travelling throughout Britain to discover what people think of Brexit, following Theresa May's triggering of Article 50 on Wednesday. This started the official two year countdown to Britain's exit of the EU.

In 2011, Cornish Pasties were awarded PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) Status. This means that for a pasty to be called a Cornish Pasty, it must be made in Cornwall, and follow a certain set of rules when being made. PGI is part of an EU framework to give products such as the Cornish Pasty legal protection. This means that because of Brexit, we are at risk of losing this protection in the UK.
